Creating an SEO URL is not much complex, it is very straightforward, and anyone can do it effortlessly. You may get surprised to know that most page tiles (with some modifications) are best suitable for creating a URL. In simple words you only have to replace the space with hyphen.
Remove Special Characters
Most probably you might not have seen any URL with special characters such as square or bracket. This is because they are considered unsafe characters which do not belong to the URL. In addition also remove the characters such as coma, colons, and semicolons.
URL never includes any numbers, therefore if there are any numbers in your title then consider removing them. For example, suppose your total is ‘top 4 features of SEO”, and then you must have to remove 4 to convert it into a URL.
Remove Superfluous Information
According to Google, it is a great practice to make URLs simple. The main aim is not to make the URL small that it will no longer accurately describe the information. Instead, try to remove the unnecessary words because they not only intimidate users but also get truncated in search results.
Make It Readable
Always try to make the URL sensible and readable. For example, /SEO-title-tag/ is readable and makes more sense than /title-tag-SEO/. This is because the first URL is a complete sentence, whereas the second one is just random words. Make the URL that describes what your page is actually about.
Make It Lowercase
Generally, both lower and uppercase URLs are treated the same by most web servers. But technically URL is case-sensitive after the domain. Therefore you must use lower-case URLs to be on the safe side and avoid potential duplicate content issues.
